I have just found a new online radio station, KaskusRadio, which was sponsored by Kaskus, the biggest Indonesian Forums. It has a streaming facility which can be used by anybody only by using Windows Media Player or Winamp. You could also request a song (if the DJ is online and if they have the songs). You could also find some song lyrics on the site. If you look for Chinnesse songs, search for DJ BuCil. He usually plays Chinnesse songs. For the other DJ, they usually plays Indonesian songs. (That's what i know from my friend, Rosi).
Too bad streaming isn't a good ways to hear a music in Indonesia, since we lack of bandwidth, not like in other countries, where they have gigabit connection and they are cheap. Let's hope in the future, Indonesia will have cheaper rate for Internet connection.

Opera 9.0 Fully Passes ACID2
Based on the Slashdot's article which i saw today, Opera 9.0 has passed ACID2 Test which was developed by the WebStandards project and vendors to test page and ensure proper support for web standards in every browser product (that's what people expected). Opera has just become the second browser after Safari to be able to pass completely the famous ACID2 test. You can read the detailed description in this link.

What won’t be in PHP 6
It's a hot topic that makes me post twice a day (i usually only post once a day). It's about what will not be available on PHP6. I read this topic while i'm updating my RSS client and the SitePoint section has been updated with a bunch of updates, including this topic. I browse the Internet and i opened up the link and read Harry Fuecks' article : "What won’t be in PHP 6". I followed some link and i found Minutes of PHP Developers Meeting, which was held at Paris November 11th and 12th, 2005 (it's kindda out of date, but it can give some notes about what's happening in the PHP6 development process). Some major conclusion was the removal of the Register Global, Magic Quotes, Safe Mode, and Deprecated Behaviour.
Here is the result if we use these kind of settings in the next PHP6 (taken from PHP Developer's meeting) : an E_CORE_ERROR will be thrown by the PHP engine when it detected the register_globals setting.
I think it's a good idea, since most of security attacks comes from those things, but it will make developer's work even worse, because they will have to change big parts of their code to make it compatible with PHP6 and with older PHP version (if they want to support it also). Let's just wait for the final release of PHP6.

PANHAC
Today i will join the Hacking Contest, which was held in JHCC (Jakarta Hall Convention Center) and also in other cities in Indonesia. I got a free tickets from someone in my friend list at my YM account. We haven't met before and we will meet today at the event. At first, i don't know if this is a hacking contest. I thought that it will be a workshop or seminar, so i agree with that, but soon i found out that it was a contest and i'm not prepared at all, so last night i downloaded PHLAK as my only tool. I have also downloaded WinSCP, NMap, and NetCat. I'm not joining this event to win it (well, i won't regret it if i win though), but it's a chance to meet new people, mostly that works with Linux, since most person who deals with security / hacking some system always good at Linux (it's my personal thought). Let's get moving...

PHLAK
There is a nice GNU/Linux distro which is mainly used for assaulting another computer or network. It's called PHLAK (Professional Hacker's Linux Assault Kit). PHLAK is a modular live security Linux distribution (a.k.a LiveCD). PHLAK comes with two light gui's (fluxbox and XFCE4), many security tools, and a spiral notebook full of security documentation. PHLAK is a derivative of Morphix, created by Alex de Landgraaf.
The latest version are PHLAK LittleBoy (USB) and PHLAK FatMan 0.3. PHLAK LittleBoy is developed for USB pen drives. Don't worry, you can still run it from CD if you want. The differences between LittleBoy and the normal version of PHLAK (0.3) include:
* smaller size (195 MB currently)
* support being booted primarily from USB but supports CD-ROM as well
Changes from PHLAK 0.3 to LittleBoy beta 1
* removed XPDE and XFCE4
* removed security documentation
* removed all under /usr/share/doc/
* removed other unnecessary packages
* added iDesk to fluxbox
* updated fluxbox menus
* upgraded all applicable packages
* added usb modules to linuxrc script in miniroot.gz and new path for usb booting
* updated grub menu.lst, options.lst, and lang.lst files
* updated grub message
* updated bootsplash
* removed debian orphan packages
* purged all removed package data
* cleaned up minimod
* removed unnecessary files from base module
* modified usb pen drive install script for PHLAK compatibility
* modified PHLAK Security Panel tools and Control Panel tools
Nice distro huh?? What do you think?

OpenOffice.org 2.0.2 Released
After releasing several RC (Release Candidates), OpenOffice.org 2.0.2 has been released officially by the developers who has worked hard since the first release last November and after the phenomenal events on last August, when finally OpenOffice.org got a major upgrade. It also got a new page style in the download page. Nice one.
The release note has been linked from the download page. It notes all changes since 2.0.1 release and it contains many bug fixes, updates for translations, and add some enhancements.
OOo 2.0.2 is ready and stable enough for public and production system, so don't hesitate to use it because i have used it since 1.1.x version and it worked great for me. If you need some documentations, please visit Documentation Project which contains many HOW TOs, Manuals, Setup Guide, and links to any other resources.

Another Training
Today i started another training with Ruud Mulder as the tentor. All of the activities were postponed (including my project). He taught a lot of new materials which we haven't know or make us learn something deeper for materials that we have known before. He will be here for about three weeks, but i don't know how long the training will be conducted. In break time, i do some code analysis on my code which hasn't finished yet. I found some error and i fixed it, but still not perfect yet. I still have to optimize the code before the test process started. Let's hope it will be finished before the test team start their job on testing the whole program.

Confused
I'm totally confused today. I have to make some complicated validation on my project and it took a lot of code (approximately 1600 line of code). I know there will be a lot of redundant, but let's leave it like that for now, since i still have some work to do to update the code (it's not finished yet. There are some bugs which i have found lately, but i haven't fix it yet. Perhaps tommorrow).
The Internet connection was dead also for about one and half hour, so i can't download my emails for some time. We only communicate using some software which operates in the Intranet and it worked perfectly, but not every member of our staffs have installed this software, so not everybody can join our conversation. My prediction was because Telkom's switch was hit by lightning few days ago and it burned their main routers and switches which connect many other router and switches and they are trying to replace it as soon as possible, but still it need some time to finish all of the replacement and re-configuration. Let's just hope that it will be as minimal as possible. Enough for now. Let's take a rest and come back tommorrow.

Kernel 2.6.16.6 Released
The next stable kernel has been released by Chris Wright with small updates (including the NFS bug that was introduced by the 2.6.15.5). In this version, it involves 5 files changed, 9 insertions(+), 4 deletions(-). You can see the diff in the kernel official website. Because this update was relative small and most of them will not affect my system, i will not use this version and i will wait for the next 2.6.15.7 or perhaps skip to 2.6.16.x (not the first 2.6.16 release, since sometimes it's still buggy, even though Linus has give some spare time for kernel developers to test the kernel itself). I'm quite happy with 2.6.15.5 for now and it takes some times to do the compilation process, so let's just wait for the next -stable kernel.

Cheap Rate
I have bought a new CDMA number from Fren because it has cheap rate if we use it to call our friend which also uses Fren network. You only have to pay Rp. 1388 / hour. That's VERY VERY Cheap. My girlfriend who told me about this news. She also bought a new number and new cellphones also (because she only had a GSM-based cellphones). So right now, i have three numbers, 1 Simpati (home town Jogja), 1 Esia (home town Jakarta) and 1 Fren number (home town Jakarta). I will be using my Fren number at night and at weekend (Saturday and Sunday).
We talked for about 2 and half hour last night. Communication was never been this cheap before. We talked a lot of things and share our condition. I asked about his final project and she has done it well. She is now starting to finalizing her third chapter and i hope she can finish it as soon as possible, so she would have a lot of spare time before the graduation that will be hold at April and November (i don't think that she will be granted to take the April graduation, since it's too short, but we will see about that later). I missed her sooooo much, but ever since i used Fren, i can call her (and vice versa) everytime and everywhere.

Upgrade Kernel Accomplished

Last night i recompiled the latest stable, kernel version 2.6.15.5 and applied patch that was given by Chris Wright through email. I applied the patch and do the usual things (make bzImage, make modules, make modules_install, edit lilo) and finally testing it, by rebooting the system and at LILO prompt, choose the new kernel and hoping that it will boot smoothly. And my wish come true. It boots smoothly and i can login into my system to install the NVidia driver in order to start my graphical screen (every time new kernel is installed, you need to re-install the driver, because the driver will be linked with the actuall kernel source, so it will be build according to your kernel). After installing the driver, i rebooted again, but without extra parameter so it will automatically go to graphical screen and i will be presented with a nice login screen.
After that i had to remove some symbolic link and made another one, but with an updated version, such as /usr/src/linux which is now pointed to /usr/src/linux-2.6.15.5 and /usr/include/asm-generic which should point to /usr/src/linux-2.6.15.5/include/asm-generic (i had some problem installing software - Liferea - before i made this symlink as it complains that it couldn't find asm-generic directory which was available when i searched using locate asm-generic). I will not delete the 2.6.15.4 directory (including kernel images and the source) until i'm very sure that this version is working perfectly (even though i have seen the changelog in 2.6.15.5 and saw that the changes made shouldn't affect my system). Perhaps i will delete it when i have upgraded to 2.6.15.6 or 2.6.16. You can see my screenshot with the latest kernel in the above picture (it's not nude picture, but it's from GIMP's about dialog window)
Credit goes to Chris Wright *maintainer of the kernel -stable team* (for the patch), Shilo (i still uses his instructions for upgrading the kernel), and Patrick Volkerding (for developing Slackware).

Kernel 2.6.15.5 Bug??
Few days ago i downloaded the latest stable kernel 2.6.15.5 and i tried to compile it and install it onto my system replacing my 2.6.15.4 kernel. I used the same config file as i used for my 2.6.15.4 kernel compilation. The kernel image (bzImage) was compiled successfully, but when i tried to compile the modules with make modules command, it ended with an error messages like this :
fs/nfs/direct.c: In function `nfs_get_user_pages':
fs/nfs/direct.c:110: warning: implicit declaration of function `nfs_free_user_pages'
fs/nfs/direct.c: At top level:

make[2]: *** [fs/nfs/direct.o] Error 1
make[1]: *** [fs/nfs] Error 2
make: *** [fs] Error 2
Today, i saw the kernel 2.6.15.5 changelog and i notice that there were some changes in fs/nfs/direct.c which can be seen in official kernel website :
Note : + sign means addition
I think this line which causes the error messages. I have mailed Chris Wright, the maintainer for Stable kernel development, and i'll wait for his answer. For now, i'll just wait and use the 2.6.15.4 kernel as it doesn't have any problem at all for me.
UPDATE
Chris has replied my email and he has gave me a patch to fix this problem (this will be included in 2.6.15.6 in the future). Here are the patches :

Sad Ending
Last night (11 PM for exact time), i finished reading the sixth edition of Harry Potter : Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, which i bought two months ago. I start reading it at Saturday and finished at Wednsday (i know it's kindda slow, but i only got a little spare time to read it and i only read it at night). The ending was kindda sad, with Dumbledore was dead, killed by Severus Snape (i already hate this character since his first appearance in the first edition). Draco Malfoy was being sent by You-Know-Who to continue his father task, after he has been sent to Azkaban. He (Malfoy) cried (yes, he cried) at the toilet (perhaps he couldn't dare to kill Dumbledore as ordered by You-Know-Who or just an acting).
As usuall, the Gryffindor team won the Quidditch, even though Harry was out of luck, since he attacked Malfoy with some new curse when he wanted to attach Harry with Imperius curse and got a weekly detention for the rest of his semester from Snape and he couldn't lead his team for the final match. They had to win over Ravenclaw over 300 points (i kindda forget about this score), and they surpassed it.
The good news for Harry was he fell in love with Ginny Weasley, Ron Weasley's little sister and Hermione and Ron does too (after some clash between Hermione and Ron, since Ron kissed Lavender all the time and Hermione was accussed to kiss Victor Krum in the previous edition. Both were jealous each other, but it ended happilly). Everything ended with a good one, except for Dumbledore's death and Malfoy and Snape managed to escape from Hogwarts.
I can't wait to see the final battle in the last edition. Perhaps it will be released next year. I'll have to wait for the Indonesion version, since i have collected ever since the second edition was released (i missed the first edition, but my girlfriend has it)

Gading Again
Today i had a meeting in Kelapa Gading area again with Mr. Adi Rakhman and Mr. Kanisius Karyono, but not in the mall, but in Pantai Marina building. I went there from the office at 9.30 AM and i got there at 10.30. We walked in and waited for the person for about 30 minutes, because he was stucked at the street. After the meeting, we ate at Sop Konro and karebossi at Boulevard street. It was great.
We got back to the office at 3.30 and Ki was going to the airport to leave to Holland for about three weeks (he will come back here before our training in April). He was leaving with Jonai and Selma (Roderick wasn't comming, since he still had business to take care).
This is my third visit to Gading area in the last 4 days, since Rudi's marriage and my weekend with my sister and her friend. Maybe i will go there in short period, since we still have to follow up for the project.
